Creche

WORD is running a day care centre at Konthalam Panchayat. In this area there are 60 jaggery units where poor women are working who can't take care of their children. The creche we implemented supervises 25 children and thereby helps these mothers. Two full time staff take care of these children, providing them with nutritional food and teaching them in a playful way how to respect elders, the importance of cleanliness and much more. Educational materials and sports materials are also provided to the children in the creche. This project has been supported by Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi & Tamilnadu Social Welfare Board, Chennai under the Rajiv Gandhi National Crèche Scheme.
