Our Projects
For more than three decades, WORD India has implemented community-driven development projects focused on women empowerment, child welfare, healthcare, education, sustainable livelihoods, environmental conservation, sanitation, and rural infrastructure development across Tamil Nadu.
Our projects aim to create long-term social impact by empowering marginalized communities through skill development, healthcare access, educational support, self-help groups, livelihood opportunities, sanitation initiatives, HIV/AIDS care, senior citizen support, and sustainable rural development programs.
Through partnerships with government agencies, CSR initiatives, international organizations, and local communities, WORD India continues to work towards building safer, healthier, and more self-reliant communities.
Senior Care
WORD India currently provides shelter, nutrition, healthcare, counseling, and compassionate support for 29 elderly inmates through its senior care initiatives. We strive to ensure that vulnerable senior citizens live with dignity, safety, comfort, and emotional wellbeing in a caring community environment.
My Dream Scholarship
The My Dream Scholarship Programme supports children from vulnerable and truck driver communities by helping them continue their school, college, and higher education. The initiative aims to empower underprivileged students through educational assistance, helping them build a brighter and more secure future.
Skill Development
WORD India empowers rural women and youth through tailoring, embroidery, Ari work, and vocational skill development training programmes designed to improve employability and financial independence. These centres provide practical skills, confidence, and livelihood opportunities for women from economically and socially marginalized communities, helping them build sustainable careers and support their families with dignity.
HIV/AIDS Prevention, Awareness, Care & Nutritional Support
WORD India works towards HIV/AIDS prevention, awareness, healthcare, counseling, and nutritional support for vulnerable individuals and affected children in rural communities. Through awareness campaigns, medical support, counseling services, and care initiatives, we aim to reduce stigma, improve health outcomes, and ensure that affected individuals live with dignity, support, and hope.
Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
WORD India has empowered rural women through the formation and strengthening of Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) that promote financial independence, collective leadership, savings, entrepreneurship, and community development. These groups help women access livelihood opportunities, bank linkages, skill training, and social support while encouraging confidence, self-reliance, and economic empowerment.
